Chinese Embassy Creative Competition

Each year we run the Creative Competition, aimed at primary schools and funded by the Chinese Embassy. There is a different creative theme and brief for the entrants to follow every year. We select ten schools from those that apply and the ten schools then use an allocated fund to buy materials and make a short, fun video clip. There are cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place, and the winning video clips are shared on the IOE CI website.

In 2018, the theme was Year of the Dog and the brief was to create a canine companion based on one of the dogs in “10 Favoured Dogs” by Giuseppe Castiglione. The dog could be real or virtual, using any medium or mixed media, and the accompanying video was to explain the creative process.
